Dr.G.T.Anbarasan, Professor of Yoga conducted Yoga classes for the staff members of Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai. The Camp was held at the terrace of Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai.
Shri S.Mehanathan, HoP and Shri V.Karthikeyan, DE inaugurated the Camp. About 50 persons attended the camp every day. They learnt various exercises like Pranayama, Naadi Sudhi, Stretching Exercises, Standing Asanas, Sitting Asanas and Prone Asanas.

HEALTH CAMPAIGN ON HEART CARE

This campaign jointly held by Doordarshan Recreation Club and Life Insurance Corporation of India. Campaign was inaugurated in the presence of Shri S.Mehanathan, HoP and Shri V.Karthikeyan, DE. Regional Manger of LIC and Marketing Manager of LIC were also present. Officials from LIC helped in a great manner in arranging this programme. Dr.Venkatesan, a famous cardiologist gave a PowerPoint Presentation on Heart Care (Know Your Heart), which was descriptive, educative and very useful.

Chess, Carrom and Magazine for reading were inaugurated in the 3rd Floor exclusively for Women. This was followed by inauguration of Shuttle Badminton in the ground floor. Shri M.Anandan, DDG(E) and Shri S.Mehanathan, HoP inaugurated the proceedings.
ANNUAL SPORTS TOURNAMENT
Draw of lots was held for deciding the Draw for Carrom, Chess and Badminton Tournaments on 4th November 2011.
Carrom and Chess events will kickstart on 9th November 2011 and the Badminton events will commence on 14th November 2011. It has been proposed to conduct Kolam and Musical Chair competitions exclusively for women in December 2011.
Prizes will be distributed to the winners of these competitions during the New Year Celebrations in January 2012.
Sponsorship to the tune of Rs.40,000/- has been received for the tournament from Chennai Peteroleum Corporation Limited, Indian Overseas Bank, Indian Bank and Indian Oil Corporation. State Bank of India is expected to join the sponsors' list.

SBI MEET
on 4th November 2011
An awareness programme on the schemes and activities of State Bank of India like SBI Life, Demat Account, Salary Package, etc. was held in the Canteen on 4th November 2011 at 3.00 p.m. Officers and staff members from State Bank of India explained the schemes and interacted with the staff members.
FREE EYE CAMP
on 15th & 16th December 2011
A free Eye Camp for the Staff Members was jointly organized by DD Recreation Club and Sankara Hospital, Pammal. More than 200 staff members attended the camp and got their eyes thoroughly checked. Latest equipments were employed to ascertain the employees' vision, ability to read, actual eye condition, etc. Doctor also suggested them remedial measures to be taken to the persons who had some difficulty.
AUCTION FOR USED CARROM BOARD AND
ANNUAL SPORTS TOURNAMENT 2012
Taking a leaf out of last year's efforts to attract sponsors to the tournament, the work was started well in advance this year. We approached various Banks, Insurance Companies, Engineering Colleges and other companies regarding sponsors. As a results of this we could get sponsorship to the tune of 2.30 lacs for this year's tournament. The tournament is going in full swing with the support of the sponsors.
ANNUAL SPORTS TOURNAMENT 2013
Like the previous years, Annual Sports Tournament was conducted with pomp and glory. Sponsorship to the tune of 2.65 lacs was achieved and the tournament went on nicely.

A record collection of Rs.3 lacs was achieved as sponsorship for the tournament. Participation in the tournament was more, especially the women, compared to the previous years.

The Yoga Camp was hosted by Isha Yoga Centre. Programme was inaugurated by Shri M.Anandan, DDG(E).
A video demonstration was shown on LED
screen followed by instructions from the representative from Isha. Shri Varadharajan and Smt.Sheela Devi
co-ordinated the programme. About 60 staff members participated in
the programme and performed Yoga as per the instructions.

A shuttle badminton tournament was organized between staff members of
DDK, Chennai and DDK, Puducherry. 3 pairs from Puducherry and 5 pairs
from DDK, Chennai participated in the tournament.
DDK, Puducherry won the inaugural edition.
